Remarkably Gary Cole still has that BX, and races it in Special Saloon and Modified Saloon events.Nononsensecapeesh wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 12:09 pmI started listening to that particular podcast last night.SuperTouringPod wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 1:48 pm We did a podcast episode on rumours from the era. It has a few more bits to it than the article too.

Haven't finished yet, I was too amazed to carry on listening when it got to the part of Gary Cole planning to enter a Citroën BX, hopefully it would've made a better Touring Car than it did a rally car.

We upset a LOT of Citroen BX superfans by laughing about that one!Nononsensecapeesh wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 12:09 pm I started listening to that particular podcast last night.

So I heard. Would have been an interesting entry if it had worked out.SFS Alex wrote: ↑Sun Jun 09, 2024 8:14 amWe upset a LOT of Citroen BX superfans by laughing about that one!Nononsensecapeesh wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 12:09 pm I started listening to that particular podcast last night.

John Cleland in an Alfa Romeo too. Would have been interesting see him in something other than a Vauxhall.

Yes. The Gareth Howell that did race in the BTCC during the 2000's would have been TWELVE in 1993!Dave Goddard wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 8:54 pm I believe that was a different Gareth Howell to the one who eventually did race in BTCC in the 2000s.

Richard Burns making a guest appearance for Alfa Romeo in 1995? He got as far as a test at least.

Something is telling me the proposed Honda Concerto entry for 1991 was actually supposed to be driven by Patrick Watts.
This would have made sense in a way as Patrick had just won two of the last three Honda CRX titles at the time (1988 and 1990).
