I’m interested in how the JTCC regs for super touring evolved particularly in the 1996/97 period. Had the cars drifted that much from say BTCC spec?
Asking as there was no rumours or seeming interest from Japan in Bathurst in 1997, which you’d think might have been one of the first places organisers would have looked given Japanese factories had shown interest in Bathurst before (not to mention in endurance rallies in Australia)
I'd be fascinated to know this as well - especially as Mazda raced the 323/Lantis domestically. Didn't seem to light the world on fire, but scored a few points. Potentially an indicator for how the Team Magic car might have fared...
